This is a live, asynchronous course.
Every day you'll get a new video lesson and assignment to complete on your own time. Each day will take you around 30 minutes.
By Friday, you'll have finished your mix and uploaded it.
On Saturday, we'll all hop on a Zoom call (with me) to listen to your mixes together, celebrate, and get feedback.

Before we even get started, I’ll explain the principles behind this system and help you find where you are along my Home Studio Success Path.
🗣️ Day 1: Contain the Vocal
Vocals are often the most dynamic source in a mix. Before we do anything, we need to contain them.
🎚️ Day 2: Set Your Faders
Getting your volume balance right across all the tracks in your mix is the single most important thing you'll do. You'll learn how to set them right.
🔧 Day 3: Shape Your MixÂ
In 2 plugins and less than 2 minutes we'll shape your entire mix to sound more professional.
🎨 Day 4: Vocal Tone and Space
You'll learn how to fix the single biggest problem in amateur vocal recordings with a simple EQ move, then learn a simple framework to decide the exact right vocal effects for your song.
🚀 Day 5: Final Check and 3-Minute Mastering
Before you take your mix out of your session, you need to do one final level check then bring it up to commercial volume.

Hey, I'm Colin Cross.
Husband and father.

I've spent time in professional studios. I've watched great engineers work. And I still spent years struggling to get my music to a level I was proud of.
